Our Top 10 Most Picturesque spots

In this Blog I will list the most beautiful places to visit in Tasmania in no Particular order. Over the last 8 months we have been exploring Tasmania, we were absolutely blown away by Tasmania and all its unique beauty. From clear blue waters and white sandy beaches, dramatic mountain landscapes, lush national parks and many incredible Waterfalls.

1.Freycient National Park


Is located on the east coast of Tasmania and a very popular place to visit by visitors. Wineglass bay is a secluded oasis surrounded by green bushland. For breathtaking views of the white sand and crystal clear water, hike to the peak of Mt Amos or Wineglass bay lookout. You can also book a scenic flight for a unforgettable scenic flight over Freycient National park for as little as $155. This is a very picturesque place and a must visit when visiting Tasmania whether you want to just take in the scenery and relax on a beach or take on of the many hikes around the national park.

2. Bruny Island

The Neck connects the north and south part of Bruny Island, the lookout offers 360-degree views over the island. The neck also is a popular spot to observe native wildlife, like little fairy penguins and the short-tailed shearwaters. 3. The Bay Of Fires


The Bay of Fires stretches all the way from Binalong Bay in the south to Eddy stone Point in the north spanning 50 kilometers along the coast. Bay of Fires is one of the most Picturesque places in Tasmania. It has spectacular white beaches, clear blue ocean and bright orange granite boulders. It also has amazing free camps along the coast. Head up the rocks Taylors beach for the most amazing sunrise or sunset.

4.Maria Island

5.Mt Wellington- Hobart


Kunanyi/Mount Wellington provides the stunning views over Hobart, with an elevation of 1270 meters. You are able to drive to the top of Mt Wellington then take a short stroll to the summit where you will be rewarded with picturesque views over Hobart, the coast line and the countryside.

6.Cradle Mountain- Lake St Clair national park


If you’re looking for iconic Tasmania Picturesque locations, it doesn’t get more stunning than Cradle Mountain. Head to the iconic Boat shed at sunset or Sunrise for Golden hour, sometimes the clouds are rolling over the mountain peaks. Another amazing photo location is the nearby Hanson’s Peak or Marion’s lookout which can be accessed on a one hour hike from Dove Lake car park. If you do this hike at sunrise or sunset you will get beautiful light across the peak and amazing views of the mountain and lake below.

7.Stanley- The Nut


Located in the far North West of Tasmania you will find The Nut located in Stanley. The Nut is thought to be an ancient volcanic plug sitting at 143 meters it towers over Stanley for an amazing picturesque spot of the nut head to Jimmy Lane Memorial Lookout or the Highland Lookout. 8.Launceston- Cataract Gorge


A unique natural picturesque place to visit, that’s only a 15 minute walk from Launceston city center. This a beautiful place to go for a walk and see spectacular views across the gorge, you may also spot peacocks and wallabies.

9.Little Blue Lake- Gladstone


Located in North East Tasmania between Derby and Gladstone just off Gladstone road you will find the Little Blue Lake. This is a very picturesque blue lake that many visitors come to visit. The lake was originally a mine hole, the lake reflects a vivid aqua blue from the minerals in its base. 10.Montezuma falls


There is over 200 waterfalls in Tasmania to see, Montezuma falls in one of the tallest in Tasmania at 104 meters. Getting to this picturesque waterfall it is a 90-minute drive from Burnie on Tasmania’s west coast. It is a three hour 8km return hike through amazing lush rainforests, past many enormous trees and many side waterfalls. Along the trail you will also see the old tramway which was abandoned in the 1800’s. The track also is suited to mountain bikes along the same path as the walkers to the falls.
