The Best Free Places To Explore In Shepparton

The best places to explore are in Shepparton. It’s situated on the floodplain of the Goulburn River, with lots of places to see and do. Located just 2 and a half hour’s from Melbourne or 1 and half hours from Bendigo. Shepparton has many parks, reserves, and forests which many walking trails go through. We spent the day here mainly exploring the many trails which all link together.

Explore Victoria Lake

Victoria Park Lake is a centrally located and is truly a picturesque spot. The Park covers a covers a massive area of 43-hectares and is a great place to take a stroll around the lake. The lake loop is a 2km on a well-formed walking track

Visit MooovingArt

MooovingArt is an exhibition that involves the entire city. You will find life-sized cows, each painted different and all brightly colored, scattered across Monash park. Approximately 90 cows are on display showcasing works by local artists and the community.

Explore the Botanic Gardens

You can climb up to the peak in the center of the gardens to Honeysuckle Rise where a fantastic lookout offers gorgeous views of the Shepparton landscape. Take a stroll through the themed gardens and native grassy bushland.

Goulburn River Trail

The Goulburn River Trail winds its way from the north of Shepparton to Jordan’s bend at Walters Park. From here the path heads south along the Goulburn River to the center of the City, and branches West to Mooroopna and south to Kialla Lakes. The trail from Jordan’s Bend to the city of Shepparton is about 5km one way. The Trail from the center of Shepparton to Mooroopna is about 5km one way. The trail to Kialla lakes is 10km return trail from Aqua moves.

Kidstown Adventure Playground

Kids Town Adventure Playground is open everyday from dawn till dusk. Café Open 10am – 3pm. Miniature Train running 10am – 1pm. Spread over five acres, Kids Town features fully-fenced play spaces, giant slides, train rides, mazes and more.
